A
trend to use PCD and CBN tools in machinings more and more with regards
to traditional materials, has led to notable advantages as far as performance
and efficiency, since these tools keep their sharpness and work for a whole
production cycle efficiently, even if very long: that means, they seldom
need replacing. |

These
tools ensure a strict respect of quotes, so resulting in smoother surfaces
and a better overall quality of finished products. They can also work at
higher cutting and removal speeds, that, along with a smaller wear degree,
means lower work costs.
Tools with PCD plates can be used to machine non-ferrous materials, in particular
aluminium alloys, as well as plastic and wood; those with CBN plates are
particularly fit to machine ferrous materials, having a hardness range of
45 to 65 HPC, such as in productions of cylinders, bearings and gears.
